1st Page of Google Helps Sell Houses
Jul 15th, 2008 | By DebOnTheWeb | Category: Real EstateIf you want to sell a property, it makes sense that the more people who know about the house, the better chance that you’ll sell and for a better price. I’ve been working hard on getting the properties I have for sale listed on the first page of Google search results.
Try it yourself and see. Search for Porter Sq Condo on Google and you’ll find the Somerville condo for sale at 25 Linden Ave. If you search for house for sale 02155, you’ll find the Medford fixer upper house for sale at 230 Spring St in the beginning results.
I know this is tooting my own horn - something I prefer not to do in this blog, but I’m very excited and have to share it. The more people I can tell about the properties I have for sale, the better job I can do for my clients.

Unfortunately, nobody searches for those terms. Do you come up for Somerville, Massachusetts real estate? THAT’S what counts, not obscure searches.
Hi Tom,
Thanks for your comment. Somerville is made up of many diverse areas with different characters. . . Porter Square, Davis Square, Teele Square, Ball Square etc. and each one has it’s own flavor. Most buyers are looking for a specific area and not at the city as a whole. Also, IMHO text messaging has shown us that people look for the easiest way to do something. “02143″ is a heck of a lot shorter than putting in “Somerville, MA” in a search. Again, it also lets people hone in on exactly the area they are looking for.
I can agree with the information Deb has posted! Appriox. 90% of buyers use the internet first - but approx. 65% of those buyers are searching for experts in the areas they are interested in. Their google searches are based on those areas. Adwords.google.com is your best source. Look at how many people are trying to be found first as a specialist with the key words Somerville, Massachusetts real estate! Expertise sells. Keep up the good work Deb!
Thanks Yvonne!
