  • All Real Estate Agents Not Alike

Jun 13th, 2008 | By DebOnTheWeb | Category: Real Estate

The majority of the fellow real estate agents I work with are professionals who put their clients’ needs first, but every once in a while I run into an agent and I just have to rant. Today is one of those days. There was one 2 family house for sale in Malden, MA that a client was interested in seeing. If there are tenants in a multi family, I know that the more notice you can give the tenants, the better. The first time I tried to show this house, I started contacting the listing agent 4 days before the showing. He was on vacation and his outgoing message said he wouldn’t be returning calls for 2 days. That was fine, I had 4 days before the showing. Then, we were 1 day before the showing and the agent was supposed to be back to work. By now his voice mail was full and I couldn’t leave another message. I explained the problem to my client and we drove past the outside of the house. It looked pretty good, so we decided to meet in 3 days to see some other properties and hopefully get into this one as well. Can you guess what happened? That’s right - 3 more days of trying to contact this agent with no response. I am amazed and appalled.

This is an an agent with over 90 properties for sale and obviously his clients are not getting the service they should. This is one of the reasons why I will only list 10 properties at one time. I can’t give the care and service that I want to if I am helping more than 10 people sell their homes.

Thanks for listening to my rant!
