Real Estate and the Internet
Aug 23rd, 2006 | By DebOnTheWeb | Category: Real Estate, TechnologyBack in 1995 I was the first agent nationwide in ERA to sell a house through the Internet. At the time, we thought the only people who’d be using the Internet to look at houses would be people relocating across the country. (I know this sounds so silly today!) The lovely couple who bought the house lived only 2 blocks away. In ‘95 this was such a surprising idea (that people would use the Internet for local searches) that ERA sent out a video crew and did both a video and magazine article on the buyers and myself.
So much has changed since 1995.
- I use a Treo so that I can respond to emails no matter where I am.
- Every property I put on the market has it’s own website so buyers can see all about the property whenever it’s most convenient for them (check out www.MedfordSchoolhouseCondo.com to see a cool condo.).
- All of my listings are on 18 different websites such as Realtor.com, AOL and MSN
The Internet has made many changes in the way that I market the properties I put on the market and with today’s increasingly busy lifestyle for both buyers and sellers - it’s a good thing ![]()
