So far we’ve talked about getting your home ready for buyers. They’re here – what do you do now? This is very simple. . . ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! The best place for you to be when a prospective buyer is looking at your home is NOT in the house. Before a buyer will want to make an offer on your house they have to be able to visualize themselves living there. They want to be able to open up the kitchen cabinets to see how deep they are and look in all of the closets. Most people will not do this if you are watching them. You can actually hurt your chances of the buyer getting to know your house well enough to want to buy it! Go for a walk, go out to dinner, be anywhere except in the house. It’s also a nice idea to leave on the lights (even if the showing is during the day.) Want to go the extra mile? Leave on some soft music.
