Get me started on a subject I enjoy and I can overload an interviewer with information. That’s exactly what happened when I was recently interviewed for the feature story Get Noticed Online in Bay State REALTOR Magazine.

We had a great conversation and I did my usual – talk a mile a minute. The article has good information. However, it does show how one pronoun can make a difference. “If WE don’t laugh at least once during a first meeting with a new client, I’m not sure we should work together.” That’s the way the sentence should have come out. There’s a lot of stress involved when you are selling a house. I use humor to help defuse some of the stress involved with a sale, and laughter is my litmus test. . . if we can’t find something to laugh about during our first meeting, that shows me that we aren’t a good match.

Facebook is also a great way to stay in touch with friends and past clients. However, my point was the things you talk about on Facebook need to be personal. It’s not the right forum for selling.

So, have I learned my lesson and will I speak slower during my next interview? One can only hope, but if the topic gets me excited, then I doubt it!<div
