The Market’s Continuing to Change
Sep 5th, 2006 | By DebOnTheWeb | Category: Real EstateYes, the real estate market is continuing to change. More properties keep coming on the market and those that do sell are normally taking months before they have an offer. What’s coming down the road? According to William Wheaton, professor of economics and former director of the Center for Real Estate at MIT, expect prices to continue to fall over the next few years.
What should you do if you’re looking to sell now? Be prepared that the price you’ll be selling for will be lower than what you think your property is worth. However, picture that we’re one year down the road from now and prices have continued to fall. Think how happy you’ll be that you’ve already sold.
Selling in today’s market is like taking off a bandaid. . . You can either rip it off fast which hurts, but the pain is over quickly, or you can pull it off slowly, one agonizing hair at a time. Pricing a house right is like ripping the bandaid off fast - it hurts, but only for a short time because you will accomplish your goal and sell your house.
