Water, Water Everywhere - Inexpensive Water Alarm Saves Night’s Sleep
May 15th, 2006 | By DebOnTheWeb | Category: Other StuffOkay, just like almost everyone else, we got water in our basement over this weekend. A few inexpensive water alarms helped us be able to sleep when I thought we’d be bailing all night. During the day, we’d been using our wet/dry vac to keep the water at bay and out of our finished room. Thankfully by last night, the rain started to slow down and we were actually able to leave the basement for a half hour, then an hour, but what was going to happen at night? I started to feel like the mother of a newborn adjusting to cat naps instead of sleep.
We had picked up a few inexpensive water alarms (Sonin is the brand we bought and currently Amazon.com has them for under $12 each) and put one at each entrance to the room. The alarms never went off, the water stayed away from the finished room, and we got some sleep. (Don’t you just love a happy ending!)
